  1. The Career of a Police Officer

  2. Why I want to be a police officer • I want to become a cop because it sounds interesting and fun, and my dad and grandpa are both cops. • Another reason is because I want to feel like a hero and save people and help them from danger. • I want to become a cop so I can have fun like my dad said its always fun but you have to be careful.

  3. What They Do • Police officers do search warrants when they break into the bad persons house to catch him or her, and to find the guns and drugs they have. • They also have to do paperwork in their office and search on the internet about what they are doing. • They also get calls from the lady who answers the 911 calls and they have to report to that certain place

  4. Working Conditions • For a cop that gives out tickets his working condition is sitting in the car all day. • It depends what kind of cop you are to be in a certain working condition • If you are a sergeant you pretty much sit in your office all day and do paperwork.

  5. Education and training • To become a police officer you have to go through the academy. • To become a cop you should get your masters degree in criminal justice. • From here you will start low like in the jails and then get promoted up and get more money.

  6. Salary • Police officers get paid about thirty to forty dollars an hour. • For a year they get paid about 47,00o per year. • And if they work overtime they get even more money than usual.

  7. Related jobs • A related job is like a c-a and that is a person who watch the criminals in the jails. • Another related job is a fireman because they work together and both help the city. • The Fbi and the Swat team are both part of being a police officer

  8. Is it difficult • Yes, I think it is difficult because you have to run and chase people that broke the law and solve cases and other difficult things. • And for some cops its difficult because sometimes if there was a murder cops might have to come in to the station and solve everything that happened. • Another thing you have to do is go to court and tell the judge what happened.

  9. Is this job fun • I think it would be fun because you get to know lots of people and have opportunities to do interesting activities. • Another reason is because you feel like a hero and someone who does things for others. • You also get to knock down peoples doors sometimes I think that would be fun and that is why it would be fun to become a cop.
