The Institute • Criated on 2009; • Officially Founded on April 2010 as a brench of Zero Waste International Alliance in Brazil; • Hosted the 7th Zero Waste International Conference and Dialog on October 2010; • Presented ILZB goals at COP16, in Cancun – Mexico on November 2010; • Invited by Brazilian Federal Government to be part of the "World Soccer Cup 2014 Sustainability Committee”, on December 2010 • Invited by UN as a consulting to Haiti’s clean up efforts after the earthquake 2010 - partnership with Novociclo SA – March 2011.

ILZB Goals • Spreading the Zero Waste concept Brazil • To have as much Zero Waste School Clubs as Possible • To get National and International representative • Work with the international partners in order to have a certificate and get our “brand” stronger • Work in order to make sure “ZERO WASTE” is not missused – “green wash” to benefit private interests. • Zero Waste must benefit the community.

  9. Haiti • The ILZB received an invitation by UN to do a consulting in Haiti in partnership with Novociclo S/A in order to give a solution for the “garbage” of that country, on March 2011. We made three projects, waiting for approval.

  16. National Policy of Solid Waste • Solid Waste Management Plan – everybody must have it! From the small home thru the largest Industry. All municipalities must have an Solid Waste Management Plan. • ILZB propose a Solid Waste Management Plan with a Zero Waste goal.
