Weekly Timetable • Maths and English every morning • Daily spelling, punctuation and grammar focus • Daily mental maths • Guided reading on Mon & Tue afternoon • Big maths & Big write on Fridays • RE once a week in the afternoon • Science once a week in the afternoon • History/ Geography once a week in the afternoon • Twice weekly PE – swimming (Thursday ) & PE (Wednesday) • Daily whole school assembly/ Friday celebration assembly • Weekly PHSE-Mrs Bass • Weekly spelling and times table tests • Fortnightly mental maths homework • After school clubs (Please ensure that the staff member running the club is notified if your child cannot attend a club or would like to withdraw from a club)

  3. Homework Please set aside time to support your child with their homework and ensure it’s quality and accuracy. Please help your child consolidate & apply life skills like telling time & handling money.

  4. What your child needs • Water bottle • Well-stocked pencil case • PE kit-white T-shirt, navy blue/ black track suites • School shoes everyday • One piece swimwear for girls & swimming trunks for boys • Contact book every day-initialled when reading. Signed weekly please • Reading book • A healthy snack for morning break (a fruit or vegetable) • A coat when cold or wet • Permission slips and money to be given by child to class teacher as soon as possible

Assessment without levels • No National Curriculum Levels • Age expectations-emerging, expected (met) or exceeding will be reported annually and officially assessed in year 2 and 6 • Parent consultations will report next step targets • Online database used by teachers to plan objectives and to assess on a weekly basis after lessons. This is then used to inform tracking of progress and target setting.
