  4. Origin of hanukkah • Hanukkah originated in Jerusalem which is where the war took place.

  5. Where it takes place • Hanukkah takes place anywhere around the world that Jews live.

  6. Biggest celebration • The lighting of the world’s largest Hanukkah menorah takes place in Manhattan, New York.

  7. Is hanukkah religious? • Yes, Hanukkah is a religious holiday. Hanukkah is just as important to Jewish people as Christmas is to Christians.

  8. Symbols • The menorah, dreidel, and the Hanukkah gelt are all important symbols for this holiday.

  9. traditions • The lighting of the menorah, making sufganiyot (jelly-filled doughnuts), and playing games with the dreidel.

  10. Fun fact • Hanukkah is spelt differently by different people. Some name it as Chanukkah while the majority of people name it as Hanukah.
