CERTIFICATE OF POSTING • Any unregistered article can be posted under certificate of posting. • The articles so collected at the counter, will be treated as ordinary articles only. The sender may super scribe such articles as ‘under certificate of posting’. • The certificate obtained by the customer is not a receipt, but only a proof of posting. • For obtaining a C.O.P. customer has to pay a fee of Rs. 3/- per 3 articles or part by means of postage stamp affixed on a format to be prepared by him as shown in the next slide:

The entries that you see in italics are made by the customer apart from writing the Certificate. • Counter PA/SA will write time and date of acceptance and will cancel the postage stamp affixed to the certificate with a date stamp impression. • He will also impress the date stamp and write the number of articles posted and return the certificate to the customer.
