Key things you need to know Not all RIIC services are free Nothing is free, RIIC underwrites some things and not others If RIIC doesnt have the skills, well try to link you up with somebody who does They probably will charge you (not us) We see ourselves as consultants, not programmers or developers of custom one-off software Didnt work well when we tried it

Team 2: RedCap: HIPAA-compliant, web-based data management Built by Vanderbilt, used by 150+ institutions, 3400 studies, 16,000 users worldwide See http://www.project-redcap.org Meets/exceeds all HIPAA security & COMIRB requirements We provide you with pre-approved boilerplate text for COMIRB Key features: Investigator-driven system Data form designs with good data management practices User access rights Data import Data exports to SAS, SPSS, STATA, Excel with or without PHI Many advanced features Multi-center, parent-child, longitudinal trial designs Data auto-validation, branching logic, calculated fields New in 2010: Standard library of RedCap forms Standardized demographics, medical history Public domain questionnaires Ability to create local standardized forms

Team 2: RedCap: HIPAA-compliant, web-based data management Free biweekly tutorials on basic features of RedCap Drop-in, no prior signups dates/times on CCTSI main web site First step in gaining access to the system Must attend tutorial to get RedCap account Consultation help via office hours Limitations No direct link to EMR must manually re-enter Limited data uploads using simple excel spreadsheets Must be connected to the web
