  1. INTRODUCTION VISIN AND MISSIONS Vision Achieving acknowledgement as one of international-level schools prominent in imtaq (faith and God-obedience) and iptek (science and technology). Missions 1. Conducting activities that emphasize good moral and noble attitude. 2. Carrying out learning systems that build students’ actual competence. 3. Providing training and developing human resource. 4. Conducting activities that develop talent and interest which suit students’ need and future orientation. 5. Performing cultural and sports events which are quality and achievement-based.

CURRICULUM KTSP curriculum • IGCSE/A/As level from Cambridge International Examination (CIE). • Students study 51 hours per week Mondays through Wednesdays (from 06.30 to 15.15) Thursdays through Fridays (from 06.30 to 14.45) Saturdays (from 06.45 to 12.00 for foreign language courses and extracurricular activities). Programs RSBI (international-level school to-be), international, and accelerated programs.

  4. 1. MOS (Student Orientation Training) 2. ESQ Training, a training which sharpens students’ emotional and spiritual sense. 3. Basic Training of National Defense 4. Pesantren Kilat or Retreat. Pesantren kilat is a special session where Moslem students spend their time from morning to evening praying, citing the Koran, and listening to preach. Retreat is for Christian students. 5. TeSIS or Social Gathering and Scientific Research, an event where students conduct their research within rural community away from city life. 6. Cultural Bazaar 8, an event where students give their charity to the local community. 7. Bakti Sosial, an event where students show their concern and give their contribution to the local community life. 8. Schoolimpic, an event where students of SMA N 8 and from other schools take part in competition in sports and arts. 9. Art School Clinic, a musical event where SMA N 8 students have music band contest. 10. Traditional Dance Show 11. Art and Foreign Culture Exhibition. 12. Education Affair, an event where students can have the opportunity to look at profiles of universities not only in Indonesia but also from other countries

  5. SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE SMA N 8 Jakarta stands in a land with area of 6600 metes square and has three-story building with estimated area of 6000 meter square. The school has 1. a mosque, a canteen, and a parking lot. 2. a sports field 3. classrooms, each of which with an area of 72 meter square, equipped with AC, computer set and LCD, and internet connection. 4. workshop rooms for mathematics, science and social science. 5. an assembly room for teachers 6. a hall for events like meeting and presentation equipped with multimedia tools. 7. a library with a collection 0f 10,000 books 8. physics, chemistry, biology, and language laboratories 9. rooms for principal, vice-principals, school committee head, teachers, administrative, and OSIS.
