What to Wear? • 1 Tim 2:8-11: I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. • Men pray with holy hands • Likewise • Women dress themselves with modest apparel & good works

What is the Standard? • Adorn themselves KOSMEIN (order, arrange) • Modest KOSMIO (adj. describing next word) • Apparel KATASTOLE (clothing that goes DOWN ) • Gen. 3:21,7 • Propriety AIDOUS (connected with godly fear in Heb. 12:28) “shamefastness” • A godly state of mind • Moderation SOPHROSUNES (propriety determined by character not circumstances) • Proper for women professing godliness
