  8. *Ergonomics We are cramping our bodies in ways we were never meant to contort Our cervical vertebrae support our heads and facilitate blood to the brain – why limit this activity with neck strain?? Eye strain affects 50-90% of computer users Taking counteractive breaks can make you healthier, more sane, and more POWERFUL

  9. Stress Free Work Zones 80% of workers feel stress on the job and nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress.  And 42% say their co-workers need such help – American Institute of Stress. Stress has long term effects on the heart, blood pressure, skin, and fertility in adults. - Carlson N. R. (2004). Physiology of behavior, 8th ed. New York: Allyn & Bacon.

  10. *Chaos and Stress We stare at the monster for hours every day CPUs can imitate the sound of a refrigerator or bus engine Easy access to data means work is continually in front of our faces Internal voice can become aggressive, insistent, negative

  11. Our Scattered, Paralyzed Lives Information overload Decentralized personal information Unmet expectations Chaos Stifled thought processes All of the above taking place at the most critical time ever in your life. NOW.

  12. *Time (Management) for Change Procrastination Tardiness Stress & Fatigue Lack of Concentration Lack of Preparation Recognize your internal danger signals!!

  13. Lack of Reward = Punishing

  14. *Rewarding Change • Associate good behavior with rewards • Choose rewards that feed your brain, heart and head • Create space in your day for letting thoughts settle • Recognize your need for taking a break
