  5. Nickname: “Pokes” • This is short for “Cowpokes”. • A Cowpoke is a hired hand who tends cattle and performs other duties on horseback

  6. Colors The original mascot was a pet tiger, which is where the orange and black colors originated. During Homecoming week, the library fountain is dyed orange!

  7. OSU Spirit Rider • The Spirit Rider can be a boy or a girl, but is always a member of the rodeo team. • Spirit Rider rides a horse named Bullet. • He or she waves the flag down the field after touchdowns and the crowd goes wild! • The announcer yells…”Here…Comes…Bullet!”

  8. Tradition: Waving Song Played after touchdowns and victories. The Waving Song Oklahoma State! Oklahoma State!We'll sing your praise tonight;To let you know where e're we go,For the Orange and Black we'll fightWe'll sing your worth o'er all the EarthAnd shout: Ki Yi!
