  9. The Current Spiritual Kingdom Luke 17:21b (NASB95) For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst. Matthew 6:33 (NASB95) But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

  10. The Future Millennial Kingdom Revelation 11:15 (NASB95) 15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

  11. God’s Future Eternal Kingdom Revelation 21:1, 3-4 (NASB95) 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth…. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, …4and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

  12. Pray for His Kingdom to Come • Spiritual Kingdom • Millennial Kingdom • Universal Kingdom What Kingdom? “All of the Above”

  13. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. What do you see in this text? Now, during the time of the Spiritual Kingdom, we have the privilege to pray for God to influence earthly situations in accordance with the realities of His heavenly eternal kingdom. Our intercession is to be for God’s agenda.

  14. First, The Easy Part: on earth as it is in heaven. God’s will is currently and consistently done in heaven. In contrast, on earth, due to sin beginning in Genesis 3, men and all creation “groan” in anticipation of a better day. So pray that earthly behavior is brought into conformity to heavenly behavior.

  15. Your will be done, (this part is a little tougher) What is God’s will? How do I know? Check for proper motivation and consistency with God’s revealed will in the Bible.

  16. Motives in Prayer James 4:2b–3 (NASB95) 2b You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

  17. Your will be done Notice, this is moving toward intercession, but it is ‘directed’ or ‘focused’ specifically on God’s will. Remember, Part 2 of intercession is coming – “Give us this day our daily bread” –needs & desires

  18. God’s Will – The Ultimate Objective Exodus 29:45-46 – (context - instructions for Tabernacle)I will dwell among the sons of Israel and will be their God. They shall know that I am the Lord their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them; I am the Lord their God. Jeremiah 30:22 You shall be My people, And I will be your God.

  19. God’s Will – The Ultimate Objective Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.” So this is a starting guide toward God’s revealed will in the Bible.

  20. Praying God’s Will – Personal Walk • God’s loving touch on my life • God’s blessing on my life • To be an object of God’s special favor • To submit to the will of God • To acknowledge my powerlessness • To receive empowerment from the Spirit • To abide in Christ • To please the Father Becoming a Man of Prayer, pp. 51-52

  21. Praying God’s Will – Personal Walk • To experience His presence • To discern His guidance • To know His will • To transform the defects of my character • To become spiritually mature • To be humble • To be fruitful in ministry • To obey willingly and joyfully Becoming a Man of Prayer, p. 52

  22. Praying God’s Will – Family Pray much the same for • Wife • Kids • Grandkids “I have no greater privilege and responsibility than to pray for my wife and children.” Becoming a Man of Prayer, p. 53

  23. Praying God’s Will – Other Pray much the same for our church • Elders and other leaders • Church body Pray for our nation • Spiritual Condition • Believers in leadership • President and executive branch • Congress • Courts • State and local leaders

  24. Praying God’s Will – Other p.2 Pray for our world • Spiritual Condition • Believers in leadership • Specific Countries and Leaders • Specific Missionaries

  25. Especially Beyond Our Families: Ephesians 6:12 (NASB95) 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  26. The Lord’s Prayer – Matthew 6:9-13 • Our Father who is in heaven, • Hallowed be Your name. • Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. • Give us this day our daily bread. • And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. • And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. • For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
