  1. Low-pt dielectron trigger with invariant mass cut J. Leonard 5 August 2009

  2. Today • Action items from e-mail: • Move to DY analysis • Plots! Later slides • Add plots to Upsilon Trigger Note (2nd priority) • Started, but haven’t gotten far yet • For the new plots. 1) Gen Et - two tower sum Et. 2) Gen Et - L1 Et • check these plots using the particle gun • also make a plot of the total Et in the detector with the particle gun • - is the ECAL TPG not applying the calibration? if this is also found to be true with particle gun ECAL group should be notified • Thought I was done with this . . . • Finish tests with particle gun - run with B field off and compare to B field on. • Thought I was done with this too . . . • The Efficiency for Upsilons and particle gun is quite different. • Is the configuration identical? Run on official DY sample to check • Did not specifically compare for efficiency yet • Also begin working on making Mll distribution from existing 2x data using current trigger (should work for higher PT) • Same as first point

  3. Drell-Yan Analysis • Following workflow of Monika Jindal’s talks from EWK muon meetings • First step: invariant mass plot

  4. MC samples • Pointed to me by Sridhara (a while ago) • Signal • Summer08 • /Zee_M20/Summer08_IDEAL_V11_redigi_v1/AODSIM • Winter09 • /Zee_M20/Winter09_IDEAL_V12_FastSim_v1/GEN-SIM-DIGI-RECO • Background • Winter09 • /Ztautau_M20/Winter09_IDEAL_V12_FastSim_v1/GEN-SIM-DIGI-RECO • /QCD_Emenriched_Pt20to30/Winter09_IDEAL_V12_FastSim_v1/GEN-SIM-DIGI-RECO • /QCD_Emenriched_Pt30to80/Winter09_IDEAL_V12_FastSim_v1/GEN-SIM-DIGI-RECO

  5. Invariant Mass: Signal events • Summer08 • Winter09

  6. Invariant Mass: Background • No scaling yet • QCD20to30 • Ztautau • QCD30to80

  7. Next Steps • Work on scaling events correctly • Why do the Zee samples have different cross sections listed on production pages? • Special scaling for QCD? • Get trigger bit info (passes HLT path) • Get in touch with D. Bourilkov about analysis • Get plots/text added to upsilon trigger proposal note • (brush up on TeX)
