  2. Needs Assessment The healthcare industry has been growing at a very fast pace and the growth has increased one hundred percent in the last twenty years. Hospitals, home health agencies, doctors’ offices, and healthcare facilities that provide medical care are given the opportunity to be in almost all medical networks that bring in high income gains.

  3. Needs Assessment A software program that has been developed to keep up with high documentation and transaction demands is AthenaNet. This program is used by many healthcare agencies to provide services to their patients from registration to depositing payments directly to the agencies’ bank accounts.

  4. Needs Assessment Every healthcare facility wants to have success not only with the medical care that is provided but also allowing employees to use a program that is easy to use and ninety-nine percent accurate. Your average employee only needs basic computer skills to use AthenaNet and even though tutorials can be long, they are very self- explanatory. Employees will receive a certificate of completion when all the tutorials have been done.

  5. Instructional Goal Every employee will be able to use AthenaNet with a maximum accuracy of ninety-nine percent. They will be able to register, collect payments, make appointments, document patient care, checkout patients, and close the register at the end of each transaction day.

  6. Performance Objectives Objective #1: Using AthenaNet (CN), the employee will be able to register and make appointments for patients with insurance and self pay by saving the information into the main system by dates and needs of patient (B) with an accuracy of 99% (CR).

  7. Performance Objectives Objective #2: Using AthenaNet (CN), the employee can collect payments and co-pays for services provided (B) with an accuracy of 99% (CR).

  8. Performance Objectives Objective #3: Using AthenaNet (CN), the employee will checkout patients with the proper documentation loaded by the medical provider (B) with an accuracy of 99% (CR).

  9. Performance Objectives Objective #4: Using AthenaNet (CN), the employee will close the register which is called the TOS and make the daily bank deposits (B) with an accuracy of 99% (CR).

Assessment of Learning Outcomes Performance Objective Assessment Objective #4: Rubric: Using AthenaNet (CN), the employee will close the register which is called the TOS and make the daily bank deposits (B) with an accuracy of 99% (CR). Was the learner able to close the register and finalize bank deposits? Yes or No (See Rubric Assessment)

  14. Learner characteristics No exception of person – Everyone in the medical practice will be required to take this training regardless of their race, age, or educational level. This training is simple to complete, therefore every employee should finish within their designated time. Every employee in a medical facility – Regardless of every employees’ position within the practice like registration clerks, nurses, office managers, doctors, nurse practitioners, office supervisor or anyone associated with the medical facility. They will be given a deadline to finish all tutorials within reasonable time.

  15. Learner characteristics Computer skills – Whether the employee has computer experience or not, AthenaNet has been set up for everyone. The only skills recommended are basic computer skills which will be implemented at the time of performance.

  16. Learning Context The instructional setting for this training can be anywhere the employee has access to a computer. The only requirement is that each employee have access to the internet in order to connect to AthenaNet. It is highly recommended that ear phones be used to hear clearly every tutorial and for privacy. The setting of instruction needs to be quiet and comfortable for utmost success.

  17. Instructional Strategies • Introduction: A. Employees will be asked: “Did you know that this training is a prerequisite before starting to use AthenaNet? BThe overall goal of the training will be to finish all the tutorials of AthenaNet and make sure every employee understands every step of the program. A B

The overall objective will be to give detailed information for every step from the time the patient walks into the medical facility and to the point of discharge. DThe training module will cover registration, scheduling, collections, documentation, TOS reconciliations, and checkout. C D

  19. Instructional Strategies • Presentation of Information: . AthenaNet is a training module that will help employees meet the demands of the schedule of the practice, practice tasks to sharpen their demonstration at using AthenaNet, their progress can be measured by the completion of tutorials, and one good practice is the opportunity to go back and refresh each task. . The order of the training module will be registration, scheduling, payments, documentation, TOS reconciliation, and checkout. A B

  20. Instructional Strategies • Presentation of Information: .The employee will have access at any time of the day and as many times possible to review every tutorial for self-assurance. Every tutorial completed needs to have a grade point average of 90 or above to continue to next tutorial. . By the end of the training modules, the employees will be able to complete every task with a passing score and have full knowledge of AthenaNet. C D

  21. Assessment Every employee will be assessed at the completion of the training by submitting their username and password to the office supervisor with their final grades. This will determine what employees have completed their tutorials with great satisfaction.

  22. Instructional Resources The technological tool necessary for this training is a computer. Every employee needs to have access to a computer with internet access. Ear phones are highly recommended for privacy and good hearing. A notebook and pen are good supplies for note taking.

  24. Formative evaluation Two strategies will be implemented to evaluate the training module: A. The first strategy will be to have access to AthenaNet main headquarters during working hours and have a key person to answer and take care of all situations that may arise. B. The second strategy will be to see final cumulative averages and have employees with highest averages help those that received lower scores to have a successful AthenaNet implementation tutorial.

  25. summary The termination of this training will allow employees to implement their knowledge in successfully giving good customer service to all their patients and will allow the practice to have solvency in their finances in a timely manner. Every employee will be able to go through all the steps of AthenaNet with no difficulty and save time and money. It is my assurance that all medical facilities implementing AthenaNet training will be very prosperous!!!!
