World Wide Web (WWW) • Es una colección de ficheros, que incluyen información en forma de textos, gráficos, sonidos, vídeos o contenidos multimedia, navegando a través de hiperenlaces y vínculos. • Fue creada alrededor de 1989 por el inglés Tim Berners-Lee y el belga Robert Cailliau. • La Web no utiliza recursos físicos como las bibliotecas o la prensa escrita. • La propagación y búsqueda de información vía Internet es más fácil y rápida. • La web permite un flujo de comunicación a escala global.
