Segmentation and Analysis of RGBD data • Ultimate Goal: • To produce a semantic description of indoor scenes from RGB-D data • Intermediate Goal: • To efficiently extract salient planar segments from the RGB-D imagery • Approach: • Use segmentations of the RGB image to suggest interpretations of the depth values • Contributions: • Developed an efficient scheme for producing edge-accurate segmentations of the RGB imagery (inspired by gPb and UCM). • Demonstrated that the image segmentation focuses the attention of the plane fitting procedure on fruitful interpretations.
