Unit 3 Project Part 1 You are the Marketing Coordinator for one of the following: Theme Park (i.e. Carowinds, Six Flags, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Sea World, etc) Cinema (i.e. Carmike, Regal, AMC, etc) Emphasize 2013 Summer Movies You are to coordinate all advertising efforts for the upcoming 2013 Summer Season. Your first task is to identify your target market: Slide 1: Define the Target Market of your Theme Park or Cinema What are the Demographics of your Target Market? (age, race, gender, family size, income level) What are the Geographics of your Target Market? (region, size of metropolitan area, population density, climate) What are the Psychographics of your Target Market? (activities, interests, opinions, attitude, values, lifestyle) Slide 2: Choose one specific event at your Theme Park/Cinema (i.e. Particular Ride or Specific Movie) and further define your Target Market for that specific event. What are the Demographics of your Target Market? (age, race, gender, family size, income level) What are the Geographics of your Target Market? (region, size of metropolitan area, population density, climate) What are the Psychographics of your Target Market? (activities, interests, opinions, attitude, values, lifestyle) Complete in PowerPoint and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  3. Unit 3 Project Part 2 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create connections with certain media in an effort to advertise. You are to decide on specific media you will contract with to advertise for your Theme Park/Cinema: Slide 3: You are to find sources for Print Ads Newspaper Ads Find both, a local and national newspaper to contract with List advantages and disadvantages of both newspapers Magazine Ads Find 2 Magazines that target your specific market List advantages and disadvantages of both magazines Slide 4: You are to find sources for Broadcast Ads Radio Ads Find both, a local AM and FM radio station to contract with List advantages and disadvantages of both radio stations Television Ads Find both, a local and national television station to contract with List advantages and disadvantages of both television stations Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 1. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  4. Unit 3 Project Part 3 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create advertisements to be used for various forms of media. You are to decide on specific ideas for your advertisements used to promote the Theme Park/Cinema: Slide 5: Create a Direct Mail Advertisement You are to make a coupon mailer including 3 Offers, Sales, or Specials for the upcoming 2013 summer season. List advantages and disadvantages of Direct Mailers. Slide 6: Create an Out-of-Home Advertisement You are create a Billboard advertisement for your Theme Park/Cinema Slide 7: Create Specialty Advertisements You are to find 3 Specialty items you will use to advertise your Theme Park/Cinema. Provide a picture and describe each specialty item. Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 2. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  5. Unit 3 Project Part 4 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create an advertisement to be used in a Newspaper. You are to create an advertisement using all the elements discussed in this unit. Slide 8: Newspaper Advertisement that includes the following: Headline – gets their attention, makes an announcement, identifies a problem Illustration – image of your product or service Identification – who are you? What Theme Park/Cinema? Copy – tells consumer how problem will be solved Must coordinate all elements using a layout design and white space (or color fill) Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 3. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of the class.

  6. Unit 3 Project Part 5 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create ways to advertise via mobile devices. Create the following to be distributed via Mobile devices: Slide 9: Uses of Mobile Devices Write a quick text that you can send your previous customers to remind them of upcoming events Create and describe an app that can be uploaded to a mobile device that can be used as a calendar of events Describe and explain what your website would look like. What information could I find on it? Slide 10: Help Customers Find You Search Engines: what key words are you going to link to your information to help customers find you via a search engine? List 5 key words. YouTube: find a video of your Theme Park/Cinema that you could post on YouTube to create interest. Create a link to it in your presentation. Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 4. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  7. Unit 3 Project Part 6 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create a Direct Mail Advertisement. Use the following site as a guide: http://www.businesstown.com/marketing/directmail-sample.asp Slide 11: Direct Mail Advertisement Using the site above, you are to include the following elements in your advertisement: Letterhead Addressee Attention Graber Focus on Benefits Testimonial Highlight Key Phrases Call to Action Postscript Create the advertisement in Word, however create a link to the Word document in your presentation. Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 5. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  8. Unit 3 Project Part 7 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to create an E-mail Advertisement. Your E-mail Advertisement will be similar to your Direct Mail Advertisement. Slide 12: E-mail Advertisement Create an E-mail Advertisement that includes the following: Recipients Subject Line Greeting Content Promotions and information stated in chunks Links (Must have a link to the homepage, a link to an event, and a link to a sale/promotion/coupon) Graphics (i.e. pictures, animations, videos, etc) Privacy Policy Signature Create the Advertisement in Word, however create a link to the Word document in your presentation Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 6. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  9. Unit 3 Project Part 8 As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to have policies in place to manage your E-mail advertising. You are to explain the following policies/procedures: Slide 13: E-mail Policies/Procedures Explain your Privacy Policy How often will you send out E-mail Ads? What days of the week will you send E-mail Ads? Who will handle the distribution of E-mail Ads? In-house or External business? Why? Slide 14: E-mail Policies/Procedures Continued How will you manage E-mail lists? How will you handle undeliverable E-mails? How will you purge the list of outdated addresses and update new information? How will you follow-up with customers responding to your e-mails? Will you use an auto-responder? How will you track results of the e-mails? Will you click stream data on your website? Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 7. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.

  10. Unit 3 Project Part 9 • As the Marketing Coordinator of your Theme Park/Cinema, you are to find out the cost of various media advertisements. • You are research local media (i.e. W-S Journal, WXII, FM 104.1, etc) to determine the cost associated with the following media: • Slide 15: Media Cost #1 • Newspaper – what costs are involved? How much are the cost? • Television – what costs are involved? How much are the cost? • Slide 16: Media Cost #2 • Radio – what costs are involved? How much are the cost? • Billboard – what costs are involved? How much are the cost? • Continue along with Unit 3 Project Part 8. Complete and submit to Edmodo by the end of class.
