  1. Pesticide Applicator Certification This factsheet provides information on the certification requirements for DoD pesticide applicators. All pest management personnel who apply or supervise the application of pesticides shall be trained and certified. OPNAVINST 6250.4C • Shipboard Pest Control • Required only while serving aboard. “Medical Department Personnel responsible for pest control operations must be certified to conduct shipboard pest control operations”. NAVMED P-5052-26 • Valid for Four Years After Initial Certification Category 8 - Public Health Initial certification is obtained following a two week course of didactic and hands-on training. The course must be re-taken in its entirety should certification expire. Contact the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence (NECE) for re-certification information or extending your current certification if you are unable to attend a class.
