As a proud parent you choose to document all of your child’s big moments in a electronic scrapbook! You include pictures and journal entries to document how your child changes overtime. Your child means everything to you and your scrapbook reflects this attitude through tone and style. And of course, your journal details reflect your expertise in developmental psychology, as shown by incorporating major theories of human development including: 1. Erikson’s Stages of Social Development & Freud’s Stages 2. Kholberg’s Stages of Moral Reasoning Development 3. Piaget’s Stages of Cognitive (thinking) Development 4. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT- What phase of social development does Erikson/Freud say your baby is in? What’s important for parents to do & why? 2. MORAL DEVELOPMENT- If your baby tries to touch the electrical outlet how should you correct, Baby? Why, according to Kholberg? 3. COGNITIVE- What does your baby think about/what is/she interested in? What does Piaget call this stage? What does that mean? 4. PHYSICAL- Using the growth chart, tell me about your baby’s height, weight, and physical abilities 5. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT- What phase of social development does Erikson/Freud say your baby is in? Give examples of their behaviors. 2. MORAL DEVELOPMENT- What phase is your child in and provide examples of things they say or do that illustrate this. 3. COGNITIVE- What thinking abilities does your child have? Give examples from Halloween night. 4. PHYSICAL- They grow so fast. Give me your toddlers measurements. What exciting physical developments have occurred? 5. You think about how much your “baby” has grown. 1. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT What new relationships are forming in your child’s life? What’s important in this phase of life according to Freud’s stages? Include the name of the phase in your scrapbook. 2. MORAL DEVELOPMENT Tell me about one book that was read at preschool to help build your child’s moral reasoning abilities. (Ex.- The Boy that Cried Wolf) 3. COGNITIVE What appropriate learning activities was your preschooler engaged in? Explain using Piaget’s stages. 4. PHYSICALWrite about how your baby has physically changed (height, weight, color, etc). What can they do now, that they didn’t do last year? 5. PICTURES Your pictures should be action shots that illustrates changes from toddler years to play age years. Tip: More pics, the merrier! MORAL DEVELOPMENT Explain one moral dilemma your child faced at school. How did they handle it? Which phase of Kholberg’s is this? 3. COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT What are cognitive abilities your child should now have? Give examples of how they have met or not met this phase based on what their teachers are saying. 4. PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT What do they do in gym class? What Size uniform did you buy him/her? 5. PICTURES Your pics. should show their abilities.
