  2. About CECIP: Members are 15 national associations of weighing industry including weights. Companies themselves cannot be members. National associations are from: Austria Czech Republic France Germany Hungary Ireland Italy Netherlands Poland Romania Russia Slovak Republic Spain Switzerland United Kingdom

  3. CECIP LMG (Legal Metrology Group): is the heart of CECIP activities members work voluntary supported by Permanent Secretary in some actions deals with all relevant metrological aspects concerning weighing industry (legal and private metrology as well) is active with European organisations and working groups like WELMEC, European Commission, EURAMET .... is active in several OIML TC/SCs

  4. CECIP LMG (Legal Metrology Group): Documents which concern weighing industry: 16 OIML TC/SC with > 35 documents (D,G,R) in Legal Metrology >> 40 documents in European Legal Metrology some in private Metrology like European Calibration Guide EURAMET/cg-18

  5. CECIP LMG (Legal Metrology Group): Manufacturers have to follow many additional documents and requirements (such are not covered by CECP activities): regional document in LM outside Europe and OIML Documents with requirements for safety, EMC, ROHS (hazardous substances), pharmaceutical industry, medical devices etc. laid down in national laws and European directives, standards and international IEC documents ....... requirements for quality management systems in legal metrology, for calibration services, testing laboratories and ISO 9001 in general required for manufacturing or service activities.

  6. CECIP LMG (Legal Metrology Group): Conclusion: Explosion of documents => who is able to read all these? Explosion of administrative requirements => who is able to follow all those?

  7. CECIP LMG (Legal Metrology Group): What becomes more important nowadays: instruments with good technical quality or labels and administrative procedures? This question should be answered by everybody of us in daily live and in business again and again. In case it is the second possibility: What can we do against this development?
