  2. Theorem 11.9 Area of a Circle The area of a circle is 3.14 times the square of the radius Example: A=3.14(6)squared 6 3.14x36=113.04 A=113.04

  3. Theorem 11.10 Area of a sector The ratio of the area, A, a sector to the area of its circle is equal to the ratio of the measure of the intercepted arc to 360 degrees. Example: C A= 70° -:- 360° x Pi. Radius sq. 70° -:- 360° = 0.194 5 cm 70° P Radius=5 D 0.194 x 5 pi. sq. = 15.3 cm.sq. Answer: A = 15.3 cm. sq.
