When solving absolute value equations you must rewrite the equation as two linear equations.-isolate what is in the absolute value bars-rewrite it as two equations, one equal to the positive the other equal to the negative When solving absolute value inequalities: -isolate what is inside the absolute value bars -solve one as it is written and write another inequality switching the direction of the symbol and changing the sign on the number Remember! Absolute value is never negative!
