  2. The Family State Fair Community College

  3. The Family Public, Comprehensive Community College in Sedalia, Mo. Serves 14-county region in rural central Missouri with Sedalia campus, SFCC online and four extended campus sites. 5,000+ students.

The Family • Mandatory Assessment, Placement • 86 percent of incoming students place into at least one developmental course. • 76 percent of incoming students place into developmental math. • Within semester retention of developmental math: 76.73 percent; 26th percentile in National Community College Benchmarking Project.

  5. The Family Of those who enroll in developmental math, 48 percent complete with an A, B or C; 15th percentile in NCCBP. Of those who complete a developmental math course, 63 percent received an A, B or C; 28th percentile in NCCBP. Only 10 percent of first time, full-time students graduate in two years; 23 percent graduate in three years.

The Family • SCHS Class 2010 • 127 SCHS Class 2010 Graduates Attended College • 20.1 percent entered four-year college/university • 44.7 percent entered two-year college • 1.0 percent entered other post-secondary educational institution • 28.5 percent entered the workforce • 3.9 percent entered the military • 1.9 percent entered some other field. • Percentage of Graduates Needing Math Remediation 30.71% • Percentage of Graduates Needing English Remediation 14.96% • Percentage of Graduates Needing Any Remediation 36.43%

The Marriage Proposal • Sophomore Career Focus • Sophomores meet in specific career pathways with faculty, who discuss college preparedness for the disciplines in the pathway. • Career and College Day • One of the largest college and career days in Missouri. More than 2,000 high school students meet with college and university recruiters and attend career presentations by professionals in the field. • College 101 • Provides high school seniors the college admissions experience. Students actually apply for college, walk though the FAFSA application and meet with faculty advisers to demystify the college experience.

  13. The Marriage Proposal • Early College • A comprehensive dual credit program through which qualified students have the opportunity to complete individual courses up to their associate’s degree at the same time they are completing high school.

Community College. • Administered to high school sophomores or juniors. • Meeting of college, high school and junior high school math faculty • Alignment and matriculation. • Marketing to students, to parents and to school staff.
