  2. Where is it? Just off the M4 at junction 15

  3. PGL Liddington Formerly a conference centre and more recently a hotel, it is a purpose-built facility. Over 150 acres of grounds with natural landscape including the woodland and two lakes. A pavilion, gym, floodlit all-weather sports pitch and 11 full size football pitches!

  4. What experiences will PGL offer our children?

  5. Why we believe this experience is important? "Evidence shows that learning outside of the classroom brings benefits to pupils such as deeper subject learning, increased self confidence and raised achievement. It can also help young people to understand and manage risk." DCSF statement, January 2008

Example Itinerary • Arrive Wednesday lunchtime with your own packed lunches around 12pm • 2 afternoon activities from 2pm until 5pm • Evening Meal • Evening activities until 9pm (flexible) • Full day of activities Thursday – 2 AM and 2 PM, with breakfast lunch and dinner included • Evening Activities • Friday morning 2 activities • Lunch included • Depart after lunch from 2pm

  7. • Healthy lifestyle - develops new sporting interests - promotes a positive attitude to outdoor pursuits• Staying safe - Teaches pupils how to assess and deal with the risks involved in their various activities. PGL courses reinforce and support the following:

  8. • Enjoyment and achievement The philosophy is all about the power of enjoyment leading to the greatest achievements. • Making a positive contributionall about learning social and interpersonal skills, learning to value and give encouragement and support, and seeing the world from a new perspective.

Other Arrangements • No mobiles, electrical items, sweets etc • Leaving 10 a.m. on Wednesday 14th May all children should arrive to school at normal time • Bus will return approx. 5.00 p.m. on Friday 16th. (Merthyr Mawr Road) • Medicines to Mrs Prosser • Packed lunch or money for journey • Pocket money max £9 (£3 each day)
