  2. The Truth of God’s Word • We can know the truth (Jn. 8:32; 14:6; 17:17; 1 Tim. 2:4; 4:3; 2 Tim. 2:25; 1 Jn. 2:21; 2 Jn. 1) • However, many study and learn but never know the truth of God’s word. Why?

  3. Ever Learning Never Knowing • Many are studying the wrong subjects • Politics, economics, sports, science, history, philosophy, etc. (Eccl. 12:12) • Or, spiritual education (2 Tim. 3:15-16)

  4. Ever Learning Never Knowing • Many are studying the wrong sources • Creeds, confessions, traditions, commentaries, stories, lies, etc. (Jer. 9:5; Rom. 1:25; 2 Tim. 4:4; Tit. 1:14) • Or, the Bible itself (Isa. 34:16)

  5. Ever Learning Never Knowing • Many are studying with the wrong use of scripture • Scripture trivia (Deut. 29:29), scripture twisting (2 Tim. 2:18; 2 Pet. 3:16), etc. • Or, the proper use of scripture (2 Tim. 3:15)

  6. Ever Learning Never Knowing • Many are studying with the wrong attitudes • Sin (Jn. 3:21), prejudice (Jn. 5:33,8:45; 18:37), unrighteousness (Rom. 1:18), lack of love (2 Thess. 2:10-12), corrupt (1 Tim. 6:5; 2 Tim. 3:8), etc. • Or, love for truth (Prov. 23:23; Jn. 7:17)
