    2. Introduction Although computers increase our productivity, prolonged use of computer cause many health problems. What would you feel after spending a entire day in front of a computer?

    3. Physical Health Problems Physical health problems include: Painful shoulders Eyestrain (Tired eyes) Muscle fatigues Backs Pain Neck Pain Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

    4. Cause Focusing our eyes at a short distance for a long time How to avoid? Take a 15-minutes break every hour or two. Keep the screen brighter than room light. Minimize any reflected glare on the screen Clean the screen of dust. Eyestrain and headaches

    5. Back and Neck Pain Cause Bad Posture (Bending Backbone or raising head) in operating the computer How to avoid? Use a chair that is adjustable and has a good back support. Use a table that is adjustable. Use a monitor that is adjustable and keep at, or slightly below eye level.

    6. Repetitive Strain injury (RSI) Cause Injuries resulting from quick and repetitive work (example: Typing) Result Damage to nerves and tendons in the hands Pain may be so intense that they cannot open door or shake hands. May require corrective surgery.

    7. Repetitive Strain injury (RSI) How to avoid? Frequently but short rest breaks are needed During typing, we should avoid bending of and restricting movement of our wrist.

    15. How can ergonomic products help us? Ergonomic products consider how our body adapt to the working condition and its design tries to fit our body well. Ergonomic computer products enable us to use the computer without fatigue in the long run. Ergonomic products are also claimed to minimize errors.
