The Gate:Exodus 26:36-37 • White linen curtain, embroidered with blue, purple and scarlet. • 9 m (30’) wide, 2.3m (7½’) high. • Was the only entrance to the Tabernacle. • Always closed, but never locked • Any Israelite could go into the tabernacle if he went through this gate. • The gate represents Jesus. • White represents purity and holiness of Jesus • Blue represents the deity of Jesus • Purple represents the kingship of Jesus • Scarlet speaks of sin and sacrifice

  8. The Bronze Altar – Ex 27:1-8, Lev 1:1-9 • 2.3m x 2.3m (7½ft) x 1.4m (4½ft) high • made of acacia wood and covered with bronze. What happened at the Bronze Altar? • The Bronze Altar is where sin was dealt with and guilty sinners were forgiven by God.

The Bronze Altar – Ex 27:1-8, Lev 1:1-9 Symbolism in the Bronze Altar • Acacia wood reminds us of Jesus humanity. • Bronze represents both judgment and forgiveness. • Fire represents Gods anger at sin. • An innocent animal died in place of the human. Jesus, the ‘lamb of God’ died in our place.

The Bronze Altar – Ex 27:1-8, Lev 1:1-9 Symbolism in the bronze Altar • Acacia wood reminds us of Jesus’ humanity. • Bronze represents both judgment and forgiveness. • Fire represents Gods anger at sin. • An innocent animal died in place of the human. • Jesus, the ‘lamb of God’ died in our place. • Burnt offering - completely burnt up – Lev 1:9. • Jesus was completely devoted to God. • Smoke represented God acceptance of the sacrifice. Lev 1:9 • Ashes indicate the sacrifice is done! • Sprinkled on others to signify cleansing. Num 19:9 • Laying on of hands • Personal identification with Jesus
