  1. Changes in cerebral hemodynamics after carotid stenting of symptomatic carotid artery Y. Duan et al. European Journal of Radiology (2011)

  2. words MTT(Mean transit time):平均通过时间 CBF(cerebral blood flow):脑血流量 CBV(cerebral blood volume):脑血容量 ACA(territory of anterior cerebral artery):大脑前动脉供血区 MCA(territory of middle cerebral artery):大脑中动脉供血区 PCA(territory of posterior cerebral artery):后动脉供血区 frontal watershed 前分水岭区 posterior watershed 后分水岭区

  3. purpuse To evaluate changes in cerebralhemodynamics after carotid stenting of symptomaticcarotidartery in the patients who underwent ischemic stroke caused by carotid artery stenosis

  4. methods Twenty patients with unilateral symptomaticcarotid artery stenosis received brain CT perfusion scan a week before and a week after carotid artery stenting.

  5. Six vascular territories suchas ACA territory,MCA erritory, PCA territory, basal ganglia, watershed between ACA and MCAterritory(frontalwatershed),watershed betweenMCA and PCA territory (posterior watershed) were chosen forcomparison

  6. methods Three absolute values including MTT, CBV and CBF were acquired and analyzed by use of the post-processingsoftware.Relativeparameter values were defined as rCBF, rCBV and rMTTthroughcomparing absolutevalues in symptomatic hemispheres to which inasymptomatic hemispheres. Then the two sets of data before and after treatment with T test for analysist.

  7. results The mean rMTT decreased significantly in ACA territory, MCA territory and two watershed after treatment, while the mean rCBF increased significantly in those areas . But the mean rCBV had no significant changes in all six vascular territories. In PCA territory, all the parameters had no significant changes.

  8. conclusion Carotid artery stenting yields satisfactory cerebral perfusion in ACA territory, MCA territory, basal ganglia, frontal watershed and posterior watershed

  9. Thanks
