  1. The adventures of pinocchio

  2. Introduction: When the gentle woodcarver Geppetto builds a marionette to be his substitute son, a benevolent fairy brings the toy to life. The puppet, named Pinocchio, is not yet a human boy. When he tells lies, his nose will get long. He must earn the right to be real by proving that he is brave, truthful, and unselfish. But, even with the help of Jiminy, a cricket(蟋蟀) who the fairy assigns to be Pinocchio's conscience, the marionette goes astray.

  3. He joins a puppet show instead of going to school, he lies instead of telling the truth, and he travels to Pleasure Island instead of going straight home. Yet, when Pinocchio discovers that a whale has swallowed Geppetto, the puppet single-mindedly journeys into the ocean and selflessly risks his life to save his father, thereby displaying that he deserves to be a real boy. Finally he becomes a real boy.

  4. Comment: I think the lovely image of the Pinocchio gives us a good impress. This fairy tale not only successfully describes the puppet’s characters: the love of justify, innocent; but also teaches the children to refuse all kinds of temptations and to be a honest, lovely, diligent and helpful child. Moreover, it tells the children to be kindhearted, and only if you are honest, the nose will not grow long.

  5. The puppet and the real children have many things in commons, as they will regret and then make a decision not to do such things the next time after getting into troubles every time. I think this tale is very good for children to read because it has many imaginary things which are suitable for the children’s curiosity. The story tells the exciting adventure and also gives us an import lesson: no pains no gains.
