  1. Faculty Resources for External FundingAn Overview Noah Clayton, M.A.Project ManagerOffice of Research and Economic DevelopmentFebruary 11, 2011

  2. Web Resources • The Office of Research website is the best source for information on all of the services and resources available to assist faculty in obtaining external funding. • National and International Awards and Honors • Research Roadmap • Support for Research at UNL http://research.unl.edu/facultyresources/

  3. Expert Review of Proposals • To foster the success of competitive proposals for external funding, the Office of Research will provide assistance in obtaining peer review of federal grant proposals prior to submission. • Available for major awards (Guggenheim, NEH, NEA, ACLS) • PI must submit 5 names of potential reviewers and have a completed draft ready for review a minimum of 1 month prior to the submission deadline http://research.unl.edu/facultyresources/exreview.php

  4. Limited Submissions • Federal agencies, foundations and university programs occasionally limit the number of applications/nominations UNL may submit for specific grants and awards. When a call for proposals is "limited," the Office of Research uses an internal selection process to determine which application(s) will be submitted to the sponsor for funding consideration. http://research.unl.edu/facultyresources/limited_sub.shtml

  5. Internal Funding Opportunities • Internal funds are available from the Office of Research and from the Research Council to support research, scholarship and creative activities through annual university-wide competitions. http://research.unl.edu/facultyresources/annual_competitions.shtml

  6. NUgrant • NUgrant is a secure electronic research administration system developed by the Office of Research to help UNL faculty, staff and administrators manage research projects. NUgrant's paperless environment: • Your NUgrant login information matches your Blackboard username and password. For information about your Blackboard account contact the Information Services help desk, 472-3970, toll-free 866-472-3970, helpdesk@unl.edu. https://nugrant.unl.edu

  7. NUramp • NURAMP (Research Administration Management Program) is a comprehensive education program offered by UNL's Office of Research, bringing together existing and new instructional components to meet the research administration needs of faculty, staff, post docs and graduate students. http://research.unl.edu/nuramp/
