NID EG in ASTAP • RFID Expert Group was established on April 2005 during ASTAP-9 • Rapporteur: Mr. Jun Seob LEE (ETRI, Korea) • Co-rapporteur: Mr. Yoshito Sakurai (Hitachi Ltd., Japan) • RFID EG change its name to Network ID (NID) EG on June 2006 during ASTAP-11 • NID EG had meeting on 14 March 2007 during ASTAP-12 in Bangkok, Thailand

NID EG’s Terms of Reference (1/2) • Proposed output of the group • Follow up ITU-T activities on ID-based application • Contributions to International, Regional, and de facto Standardization Organizations such as ITU-T, ISO/IEC JCT1 and EPCglobal • Status reports on technology and standardization of ID-based application

NID EG’s Terms of Reference (2/2) • 12 Months work program (from ASTAP-12) • 2007 • 2nd quarter • On-line meeting for developing status report from 30 March to 30 April • Publish a status report on NID standardization activities • 3rd quarter: • Survey of the NID related activities within ITU-T • Discussion on the revised version of status report on NID standardization activities • 4th quarter: • On-line meeting for developing revised status report • Publish a revised status report on NID standardization activities • Make common proposals to TSAG reflecting regional opinion • 2008 • 1st quarter • Survey of the NID related activities within other SDOs

  6. Outputs of NID EG • NID EG prepared APT Joint Proposal (Supported by Australia, Japan and Republic of Korea) to TSAG which was held in Geneva from 3 to 7 July 2006. (TSAG-D-53-E) • Joint Coordination Activity on Network Aspects of Identification Systems (including RFID) (JCA-NID) is established on July 2006 • Initial draft status report on NID standardization activities • In this initial draft, ITU-T RFID CG, JCA-NID, SG11, SG13, SG16, SG17 activities are briefly described (http://www.aptsec.org/meetings/2007/ASTAP12/ASTAP-docs/ASTAP07-FR12-EG.NID-01_InitialDraftText.doc)

ASTAP-12 NID EG Meeting Result (1/4) • NID EG identified following groups in ITU-T are related to NID standardization • JCA-NID: Generic reference model, HLR (High Level Requirements), Standardization roadmap • Q.7/11: Classification of NRFID services and approach for consideration of impacts on network based on classification of services • Q.2/13: Y.idserv-reqts • Q.22/16: networked ID triggered multimedia information delivery services • Q.2/17: X.520 AMD3, New directory service attributes for RFID • Q.6/17: X.rfpg, RFID privacy guideline • Q.9/17: X.rfid-sec-1, Privacy protection framework for NID • Q.10/17: X.RA-nid, Allocation of new OID for NID application and services • These groups activities will be included in status report

ASTAP-12 NID EG Meeting Result (2/4) • NID EG agreed to held an interim on-line meeting using e-mail reflector (astapnid@apt.int) • Making initial text for each activities and circulate (by 30 March) • Discussion on each initial text (by 13 April) • Produce revised text for each activities (by 20 April) • Circulate revised text (by 25 April) • Produce and distribute integrated report (by 30 April) • Please participate this on-line meeting!!!

ASTAP-12 NID EG Meeting Result (4/4) • As the JCA-NID decided to extend its Terms of Reference in order to include the USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) activities, NID EG agreed to extend its Terms of Reference in order to include USN activities • NID EG will discuss through the e-mail discussion on extension of Terms of Reference and will fix it in next ASTAP meeting
