  1. Learning Resources Ordering Process

  2. Background • The ordering process for learning resources was implemented to improve the timely issue of learning resources for our learners to ensure they are fully motivated from the start of their programme. • The process allows the hubs to have a permanent stock of resources for the learners. • Learning resources include items such as: • Simple Guide to Key Skills • Your job role and your qualification • Sign up packs • Portfolio contents • NVQ standards • Learning resource CD’s.

  3. Training Assessor -How do I order learner folders and resources?

  4. Sales Executive -How do I order resources?

  5. Operations Assistant -How do I order learning resources

  6. Warehouse Management • We sub-contract our Warehousing out to a company called Kendall Press who are based in Manchester. • The Warehouse manage our stock and deliveries. • They arrange for one delivery of resources per month to the hubs as per the orders received on-line. • The deliveries are made by the 30th of each month. • The deliveries will be made via a courier and the boxes will be marked 1 of 1, 1 of 2 etc. The contents will also be written on the boxes where possible.

  7. Ask ELLE • Ask ELLE is an electronic library of learning resources. • You can access Ask ELLE via the Protocol Skills website by selecting the Ask ELLE tab. • You will need a user name and password and this is allocated by Mandy Halligan. • New colleagues are automatically set up and issued with their user name and password via email. • Leavers are automatically removed.

  8. TA / SE Toolkits • Toolkits are ordered for new colleagues by the People Manager and delivered to the location requested by the People Manager in time for their induction. • The People Manager/Line Manager will give the Toolkit to the new colleague during their induction and run through it with them. • If a colleague leaves Protocol Skills then their Line Manager should ask for the Toolkit to be returned and then send it back to Mandy Halligan.

  9. Hate Waste • Try to gauge your monthly requirements, do not over order as this causes additional printing costs to meet the orders of other hubs. • Over ordering can also create issues if the resources are updated / amended due to new standards etc. • If there are ‘out of date’ resources taking up space at the hub, then contact Mandy Halligan to discuss the options available. • If you are struggling for storage space within the hub then contact Mandy Halligan.

  10. Feedback • All feedback is welcome, whether it is positive or negative. • Feedback is required on all areas, for example, the resources themselves, the ordering process, the delivery process. • Without feedback it is difficult to make improvements to meet your requirements. • Please send feedback to Mandy Halligan via email mandy_halligan@protocol-skills.co.uk
