  1. TA31RCO RIFLE COMBAT OPTIC 05 JANUARY 2008

  2. CS0103

  3. RIFLE COMBAT OPTIC • 4 x 32mm optic • Does not require battery power • Calibrated to accommodate bullet drop • No need for mechanical elevation adjustments CS0103

  4. RIFLE COMBAT OPTIC CS0103

  5. RIFLE COMBAT OPTIC • Compact dual source illuminated telescopic sight • Collects ambient light • Tritium lamp • The illuminated chevron pattern reticle • Range estimation out to 800 meters CS0103

  6. BINDON AIMING CONCEPT (BAC) • Both-eye aiming method • Image appears unmagnified when weapon is moving • Once weapon movement has stopped, magnification is apparent CS0103

  7. FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Multi-layer coated glass element • Precision machined • Hard-anodized • More rugged • Flat Top Adapter CS0103

  8. SPECIFICATIONS • Provides daylight illumination • Tritium illuminates in low light • Calibrated for 5.56mm round • Magnification is 4 power CS0103

  9. SPECIFICATIONS • Length-5.8 inches • Weight-9.9 ounces • Field of view- 36.6 ft. (12.7m) at 100 yds or 12.7 meters at 100 meters • Adjustment- 3 clicks/inch at 100 yds • Chevron width at the base- 19” at 300m CS0103

  10. TRITIUM ACTIVITY • 100 mill curie radiation in one source • Less radioactive material than what is found in wrist watches illuminated with tritium CS0103

  11. CS0103

  12. MARKSMANSHIP IMPROVEMENTUSING THE RCO • More accurate • Doubled scores during live fire • Improved measurably at ranges beyond 250m (Known and unknown distance) • Improved poor shooter performance • Improved first round hit of targets CS0103

  13. CS0103

  14. COMBAT ID IMPROVEMENT USING THE RCO • See into / through shadows, windows, foliage • ID enemy vs. noncombatant vs. friendly, reduces the potential for fratricide • Partially camouflaged targets at ranges beyond 300 meters • Acquire and engage targets in low light conditions CS0103

  15. CS0103

  16. RCO ZEROING PROCEDURES • Place standard zero target at 36 yards • Establish a good supported shooting position • Use 300m aim point on the reticle • This is the tip of the vertical post CS0103

  17. CS0103

  18. RCO ZEROING PROCEDURES • Put it on the center mass • Fire a three round group • Observe impacts on zero target • Assess elevation and wind-age adjustments CS0103

  19. CORRECTIONS • One click of wind-age or elevation moves the strike of the round 1/3 inch per each 100m • 3 clicks moves bullet strike 1” at 100m • 1 click moves bullet strike 1” at 300m CS0103

  20. CORRECTIONS • Shoot another three round group • Assess and make corrections • Do this until point of aim is point of impact on target CS0103

  21. CS0103

  22. COMBAT AIM POINTS • The RCO reticle gives you aim points for different distances out to 800 meters CS0103

  23. RANGE ESTIMANTION PROCEDURES • Use the RCO to estimate the range of potential targets CS0103

  24. CS0103
