BASIC CORONAL POLISH PROCEDURE. DRY TEETH. Dry teeth with air/water syringe or 2x2 gauze. DISCLOSE TEETH. Apply disclosing agent to all surfaces of the clinical crown. RINSE AND ASPIRATE. Use air/water syringe and HVE. POLISH WITH PROPHY CUP.

  1. BASIC CORONAL POLISH PROCEDURE

  2. DRY TEETH • Dry teeth with air/water syringe or 2x2 gauze.

  3. DISCLOSE TEETH • Apply disclosing agent to all surfaces of the clinical crown

  4. RINSE AND ASPIRATE • Use air/water syringe and HVE

  5. POLISH WITH PROPHY CUP • Polish facial/lingual surfaces of teeth to remove areas of plaque

  6. POLISH WITH PROPHY BRUSH • Use brush on occlusal surface of posterior teeth and stubborn stains on lingual surface of anterior teeth

  7. FLOSS • Floss interproximally with unwaxed floss

  8. RE-DISCLOSE • Check for missed areas

  9. RE-POLISH IF NECESSARY • If any missed areas, use cup or brush to re-polish to ensure all plaque has been removed prior to instructor check

  10. HOME CARE INSTRUCIONS • Brush at least three times per day using a soft bristle toothbrush • Floss at least once a day using unwaxed floss • Use mouthwash to help eliminate bacteria and prevent halitosis • Visit your Dentist every six months to maintain a healthy oral cavity
