  2. Chunking • What it is: Dividing a monologue into parts • Why to do it: Taking further control over the flow of the piece. • Helping you memorize the monologue.

  3. How to Chunk • Follow clues from the writer • Divided parts should still honor the original plotting you have already done (Beginning, Middle, Climax, and End-wise) • Make sure the climax is its own chunk – this will help it to stand out as clearly as possible.

  4. How to Chunk Cont. • Do not have less than six chunks, do not have more than nine. • Your chunks do not have to be your finalized decisions as chunks, you just need to follow the directions above in making decisions.
