  1. Secret Credit Card Benefits You Probably Don’t Know You Have

  2. Purchase Protection: Get Reimbursed If Your New Purchase Is Stolen or Broken • Credit card companies don’t seem to advertise this one but most major credit card companies carry this benefit and if you have a credit card, you can probably get this benefit. Essentially, if you buy something with your credit card and it is either stolen or broken within the first 90 days of purchase, your credit card company will write you a check for up to $1000! Some of the companies might have the limit at $500 but most keep it at $1000. Either way, that kind of money is awesome for us clumsy folks who drop those brand new Iphones or have them stolen right after we bought them.

  3. Price Protection: If You Buy Something and Find A Lower Price, You Can Receive a Refund • If you just bought something with your credit card and then see it advertised at a lower price in print within 60 days, then you can get this product refunded by your credit card company. There are certain limitations to this in regards to what you buy (internet purchases might not qualify) so be sure to check with your credit card company to see what their limitations and processes are. • Car-Rental Insurance: Don’t Buy It Because You Probably Already Have It • If you rent a car with your credit card, you may already have insurance for this  with your credit card company. Most companies offer insurance up to $50,000 against collision or theft. Although, this is a common benefit, make sure the card you have advertises this benefit.

  4. Discounted Low Budget Items • Major retailers such as Target and Best Buy have made deals with your credit card companies to provide discounts to credit card holders. Many times other items such as movie tickets or flowers also have discount options. Just log into your credit cards website and find the “Shopping Area” and you might save a whole bunch of money on things you otherwise would pay full price for. • Free Concierge Service • Basically your private butler service. Obviously there are limitations to what they will do but the flipside is there is a whole lot of stuff they will do. Try it out! They won’t do your homework or your job for you but let’s say you can’t find tickets to that concert you want to go to… ask your concierge to help. You want a list of hotel rates in a certain city… ask your concierge to create a list outlining that information for you. Try it out, you might be happily surprised.

  5. Stop Buying Extended Warranties • If you use your credit card, many credit card companies will match the store/manufacturer warranty that your new product comes with up to one year. So you are thinking about buying a warranty with your new laptop, why not find out if you can get it for free with your credit card company? 7. Free Roadside Assistance Most credit cards provide roadside assistance for free so you can probably skip purchasing it when you buy or rent your next car.

  6. Disclaimer: The above information is only written as suggestions to point you toward potential benefits associated with your credit card company. I cannot speak for the credit card companies so make sure you check the policies and procedures regarding your own credit cards and their associated benefits first before acting any of these suggestions. http://www.carloanskingston.ca/
