  2. Do we Learn More with Age? • Aim: show that we may learn more as we grow older • Experimental data are presented • Conlusions are made

Old Dog Learns New Trick! • Old dogs have been reported to learn new tricks in an article presented in Naturethis week • The dogs were traind for a number of years prior to this discovery in specialy designed kennels. Not all dogs had the capacity for imprved learning with age, but most did. • This lends support to the fact that you ar never to late to learn…..if you’re a dog! • Could this be true for humans too? Recent research has shown that the older you get, the less able you are to cope with chang – does this mean that we are less likly to learn as we age?

  4. Methods • Dogs were trained to perform new tricks • Others were not trained • The two sets of dogs were compared in their abilities to perform novel tricks • Data were collected over 4 years
