  2. A State Camp has been recommended by Branch Scout Forum for a number of years. • The Scouts would like a “no pressure” camp open to all Victorian Troops. • They want the ability to decide if and when they participate in activities. • They would like to have time to “socialise”. Background

  3. Too Leader intensive to run. • Too similar to AG – a Venturer Section activity. • Not supported by younger Scouts. • ARC Bays and ARC Eastern have accepted the challenge to develop a concept for such a camp. Manymembers of the BSC believe that this camp will be:

  4. Must be run in January due to the length of the school holidays. Must cater for up to 2000 Scouts. Must be held at a “prime”, central location. Must not be Leader intensive. Must be affordable. Should be organised along the lines of a “Patrol Camp” but with additional organised activities. Current thinking is that the Camp:

  5. Bay Park, January 2015. • Open to all Scouts in Victoria. • Run from Sunday to Saturday. • Patrols able to register w/o a Leader. • Activities provided are “simple” and not compulsory. Activity start times are from approx 09.00 and finish no later than approx 16.00. Evening activities are provided. • No centralised catering – “bread and milk” only. • Off site activities structured and timed so that buses complete a route to minimise required bus numbers and hence cost. • The structure of the camp is similar to “Bay Camporee”. What is suggested?
