  1. What IT programs we have • IT-systems specialist • Students get the skills to administrate the networks ja network equipment, administrate and instal working centres and servers, mend and retool applications and application servers, automatize frequent administration activities etc.

  2. Advantages and disadvantages of the program • Advantage – • Teacher can choose which topic he/she will teach more which less hours • Teacher have to cooperate and integrate know-how • Disadvantage – • Too much material per lessons • No textbooks or guiding materials

  3. Teaching subjects in the program • Curriculum capacity 180 EKAP • General education 30 EKAP • Basis subjects 122 EKAP • Optional subjects 28 EKAP • 1 EKAP = 26 lessons • Is used to describe the study outcomes, to assess them and to transfer them

IT-systems specialist • Staining infotechnological infrastructure in the organization - 5EKAP • Understands infotechnological tasks to put the aims into practice, knows IT infrastructure administration principles and acts like a member of the organization, who knows his rights and responsibilities. • Application software - 6,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills about application software types, uses main groupwork software solutions, is able to raise concrete aims and fulfill them. • Organization and entrepreneurship environment – 5EKAP • Understands business environment development and communication on the level to work in a modern organization as a cooperative staff member.

IT-systems hardware- 5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills to handel with hardware. • Computer networks- 7EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills, needed to understand computer networks working principles and building simple networks and administration of them. • Adminstration of computer networks and network service – 6,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge about networks administration and main services; student can use needed concrete language and terminology to maintain and monitor diferent OP systems

Administration of Windows-operation systems – 6,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills needed to instal and administrate Windows – operation systems, uses correct language and knows professional terminology • Linux / BSD-operationsystems haldus – 6,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills needed to instal and administrate Linux - or BSD – operation systems, uses correct language and knows professional terminology Operationsystems – 6,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills needed to instal and administrate OP systems theoretical basis and terminology, working centres, servers, mobile equipment, less used Op systems

Administration of application servers- 8EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills about installation and administration of different application servers using correct professional terminology in English. • Scripting tools – 3,5EKAP • Aquires knowledge and skills about different scripting tools and how to use them. • Career planning and basics of entrepreneurship - 6EKAP • Is able to plan his own career in modern economy, business and working environment following life-long-learning principles.

  8. What subjects are necessary to the new unified IT program • IT systems hardware and architecture • Computer network, management and services • Operation Systems and application software • Teamwork and cooperation

  9. What teaching resources are used at the moment • We have our own wikipedia where all students can access for learning materials • We have Cisco class for networking • We have PC classes with Windows 10, where students can run virtual machines • We have workshops

  10. How each institution organize student's practice and how long • Practice 38 EKAP • Students must find themselves practical training place in a company • Practice in the company has to last at least 12 weeks. • In the whole studytime students have 24 weeks of practice

  11. Exams students must pass to get qualification • They have to take 2 EUCIP CORE exams and final thesis • Plan Area: The Use and Management of Information Systems • Operate Area: Operation and Support of Information Systems
