  4. What it takes to get in • Average high school GPA for incoming freshman: 3.96 • Average ACT score: 27. • Average SAT score: 1863. • 96% finished in the top 10% of their high school class rank “UCSB GPA Requirements” “UCSB Admissions”

Application Process • To apply, go to the UCSB home website and pay application fee of $60. • Include transcript which contain my ACT/SAT scores, my GPA, class rank. • An essay about myself, including personal qualities, talents and abilities, extra curricular activities, and work experience. • Essay is crucial: it can either make or break your chances of being accepted to the school. “UCSB Admissions”

My Major • Major in Business Economics. • Business Economics focuses on how people choose their resources; develops skills in: • logical thought used in solving problems, observation and inference from data; • presenting ideas in compelling writing and speech. • With a major in Business, I can choose a wide variety of careers. • Bachelor’s degree. “Economics- UC Santa Barbara 2009-2010 General Catalog”

  8. Student Life • Beach and mountains. • 250 active clubs and organizations • Party. • Party. • Did I mention party? “UCSB Campus Organization” “UCSB Review”

  9. The Negatives • Students party 24-7 and have reputations of having STD’s. • Partying to hook-up with people is not my thing. • UCSB no big on sports, and I am a sports fanatic. • They do not even have a football team! “UCSB Review”

  10. Final Decision -UCSB offers a phenomenal education and a dream location -Can’t handle lack of sports and the party atmosphere.
