Aim (Plan) • What was the aim of your project? Our aim is to help our Substance Abuse community with counseling and or Medication Assisted Treatment.
Changes (Do) • What changes did you make? Gulf Coast Addiction Medicine team goes out into the community to show our support and let people know where and who we are. We also go into the jails in our area to educate the inmates on our program.
Results (Study) • What were the results? Our patient load has increased. • Were the changes actually an improvement? Yes • How? Our patient has increased by 50%. 30% counseling only and 20% MAT
Due to Hurricane Michael we did have some hiccups with patients. We lost some but we have gained multiple new patients because of the need for workers in regards to Hurricane disaster relief.
Next Steps (Act) • How did you decide to adopt, adapt, abandon the change? We saw a need in our jail system and we needed our community support. • What led to your decision? Meeting with the Sherriff and confirming the need to keep offenders from reoffending. • What will you do next? Continue to work with the inmates and educate our community.
Impact • How did this project impact your customers and your organization? This project positively helped our organization realize the need of MAT and Substance Abuse education.
Sustainability • What ideas do you have to sustain the improvements you made? Continue community involvement and education.
