  2. Which Hand Is Which? • Long hand is the minute hand. • Short hand is the hour hand.

  3. Intervals of Five • 60 minutes on a clock face • Skip count by fives to count the minutes

  4. Hour • To tell time to the hour. • When the minute hand is pointing to the 12 we say hour.

  5. Half Hour • To tell time to the half hour. • When the minute hand is pointing to 6 we say half hour.

  6. Quarter Hour • To tell time to the quarter hour.

  7. Before and After • To tell time in 5-minute intervals two ways, minutes before and minutes after the hour.

  8. Beginning to End • To determine elapsed time.
