  1. Making a mechanical digger Prediction lever screw and axle. By Chris and Brodie

  2. Materials • Card • scissors • A card board box 20cm long • Paper fasteners • 4 card board circles • glue

  3. steps • Cut out a rectangle of card • Cut out 20cm long and 2cm wide and fold 5cm of it • Make a 27cm long 2cm wide strips of card. • Cut out a 12cm long 2cm wide. • Put the 12cm long card on the back of the digger. • Join the 27cm long card to the 12cm card and to the scoop and do it again on the other side • Make a 27cm long card and join to it. • Draw four circles four wheels.

  4. results • Our digger works because of a lever. • It works by pulling a card at the back of the digger. • The part of the lever where the paper fasteners are is a fulcrum. • The wheels on the digger helps the digger move.

  5. conclusion • Our prediction was correct because there are wheels and a lever.
