  2. GIGABIT ETHERNET Transmisi local area network (LAN) yang dapat mentransmisikan data rata-rata 1Gbps.Cth: Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)

  3. Implementasi fisik dari Gigabit Ethernet meliputi: 1000 Base – LX • Menggunakan medium kabel fiber optik 1000Base-LX menggunakan signal long wave laser. • Jarak maksimalnya yaitu 550 meter untuk multimode dan 5000 meter untuk singlemode.

  4. 1000 Base – SX Salah satu spesifikasi untuk Gigabit Ethernet dengan medium kabel fiber optik (multimode) (IEEE 802.3z), 1000Base-SX menggunakan signal short wavelength laser. jarak maksimalnya yaitu 550 meter.

  5. 1000 Base – CX • Untuk kabel jarak pendek 25 m eteratau kurang, Gigabit Ethernet menganjurkan transmisi melalui kabel dengan balace 150 ohm • Supaya meminimalkan gangguan yang diakibatkan perbdaaan voltage, transmitter dan receiver akan membagi ground. Return loss dari setiap connector dibatasi hingga 20db untuk memperkecil distorsi.

  6. 1000 Base – T Salah satu spesifikasi untuk Gigabit Ethernet dengan medium kabel twisted (IEEE 802.3ab), 1000Base-T menggunakan signal electrical.Untuk mentransfer data 1Gbps jarak maksimalnya yaitu 100 meter. Harganya lebih murah dari 1000Base-LX, 1000Base-SX.
