  2. K-12 Activities • Dean Schneider d.schneider@ieee.org • Goals: • Implement IEEE TISP • Recruit Volunteers • Coordinate Training Events • Support Central Texas Future City Competition

K-12 Updates • TISP Implementation • Positive movement in TEA support – Austin ESC now has permanent STEM center personnel assigned (Fall 09 TISP Seminar cancelled due to lack of participation) • Met with ESC 13 and 20 staff and created strategic plan to implement STEM education efforts in partnership with CTS

  5. K-12 Updates • TISP Implementation • Sponsored meetings with ESC 13 Math & Science Directors (March 4 and May 11) [Need some Austin coverage for these meetings] • STEM center desires MOA with CTS to support our goals and to pursue joint grant opportunities to support STEM education (including TISP)

  6. K-12 Updates • TISP Implementation • Scheduled TISP seminars – 18 Oct 10 and 28 Feb 11 – Venue: TX State? (Larry can you help?) • Modified lesson plan session during TSTEM Academy Spring Cluster Meeting on 22 Feb 10

  7. K-12 Updates • Additional Volunteer Opportunities • S. Texas Engineering Camp facilitators • 21-25 June; 5-9 Jul, and two 26-30 Jul • Sul Ross Region (Eagle Pass/Del Rio) • $400/day stipend or can volunteer on a daily basis

  8. K-12 Updates • Central Texas Future City Competition • Judging Coordinator • Representing CTX Region at National Competition 13-16 Feb 10 in Washington DC • Need judges for next year
