Reid For any Christian, mission and giving is not an obligation that is laid upon us but a sign of our freedom in Jesus Christ, an indication that we own our possessions and are not owned by them, that they serve us and not we them. When possessions divide us, devour our time, and deprive us of love, then they own us and diminish life.

  3. MISSION STATEMENT • LIVING IS GIVING • WE LIVE BEST AS WE GIVE OUR STRENGTHS, GIFTS AND SKILLS IN THE SERVICE OF GOD • WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE NOT SURVIVE • OUR GIVING MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN OUR FAMILIES, OUR WORK, OUR COMMUNITY, OUR WORLD AND OUR CHURCH

  4. PLEDGES • A pledge is an intent, not a guarantee • Provides communal sense of congregational commitment • Enables reliable church budgeting • Enables favourable bank credit terms • Can be apportioned between KLUC and United Church Mission and Services

  5. OPTIONS FOR REMITTANCE • Weekly Offering • Sunday and Seasonal envelopes • PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance) • Funds automatically withdrawn from your bank account • Provides consistent monthly revenue, particularly over the summer period • Can be combined with envelope use • Currently about 25% of our congregation use PAR.

  6. OPTIONS FOR REMITTANCE • Donation of Securities • Can be used to minimize tax implications • Ask our committee for further details

  7. Kingsway Lambton United Church is the ROCK that forms both the geographic and spiritual base of our faith that fuels our missions, our community activities and our charitable works Our weekly givings support that base.

  8. The fruits of our outreach work are provided totally to our charities and missions. Stewardship givings are used specifically to fund the church’s needs.

  9. The many good works of the Ministry & Congregation encompass the elements of Community, Commitment and Compassion.

  12. GLOBAL OUTREACH Compassion means sharing, caring, giving, loving, serving, supporting

  13. ALPHA COURSE Practical introduction to the Christian faith

  14. OUTREACH – Golf Tournament God calls congregations to mission. Money follows mission.

  15. OUR VISION FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL That Sunday School for each child and youth would be a place for loving, nurturing relationships that reflect God's love, and that it would be a safe place to explore, question and nurture faith.

  20. STEWARDSHIP • Our church Offering is to give thanks for what we receive through the life transforming love of the living God. • We ask you to consider your current Offerings and assist us in reaching our annual goal.

  21. 2008 Outstanding Debt Status OPEN ACCESS PROJECT How did we do in 2008?

  22. OPEN ACCESS • A true success story! In terms of fund raising and accomplishment • In excess of $1,000,000.00 donated by the congregation • Building is functional and beautiful! There still is a small amount of debt outstanding that needs to be covered. Ongoing donations are always appreciated.
