  3. Geologic Feature of Illinois • Illinois geologic feature is Lake Michigan. • It’s a major part of Illinois. • Lake Michigan was created by glaciers that slid down to create the shape of Illinois

  4. Lake Michigan • In the Paleozoic era the segments of land fell into the water which created the shape of Illinois and • The lake. • Has many perks such as fishing, activities and fresh drinking water.

  5. The effect of the feature • Created a lake that is used for drinking water and for activity. • Different parts of Illinois also gets flooding.

  6. Geological Event • Illinois had major flooding. • It caused much damage to surrounding areas and damaged homes.

  7. Summary • The impact of Lake Michigan is world wide, it allows Illinois of drinking water. • And helps to create ports. • It also creates activates and event to be held at the lake front.

  9. Geologic features of South Korea Korea’s geologic feature is a peninsula 70% of Korea is surrounded by water Korea was made by splitting off china.

  11. The Han River The Han river is the largest river in South Korea It stretches over 700 miles and touches 15 different villages.

  12. Floods in Korea • In spring, monsoons are typical. During that time, many floods occur, causing damage to homes and buildings. • Mudslides are popular in the monsoon season.

  13. In conclusion South Korea is a great tourist attraction for great food and view, but sometimes mother nature wants you to stay home.

  16. Geological Event -I experienced the earthquake last April. -Everything in my house was shaking, it woke my family up.

  17. Tsunami -Tsunamis are a geologic event, they flood coastal land and impact people in a variety of ways. -People’s property is wrecked, farm land is destroyed, and in many cases, people and livestock are killed as well.

  19. Geologic Feature of Philippines • Philippines geologic feature is the Mount Pinatubo. • Philippines is an archipelago (scattered islands).

  20. Mt. Pinatubo • An active stratovolcano located in the northern part of the Philippines (Luzon). • It was formed 1.1 million years ago. • The magma within the surface of the earth worked its way above the ground. As the lava kept flowing out, it dried up and turned into a volcano.

  21. Geologic Events • Mt. Pinatubo awakened in july 16, 1990 and erupted in 1991. • People experienced high magnitude earthquake.

  22. Effects of Geologic events • After the eruption, people who live near the volcano experienced low amount of sunlight.

  23. Conclusion • Mt. Pinatubo is still and active volcano but in a much lower level. It is now used for business as a tourist spot.
