Jan 30th, 1882 • Home-schooled, BA Harvard, Columbia for Law • NYC lawyer for 3 years, New York State Senate • Roosevelt marries Eleanor Roosevelt, cousin of Teddy R • Father of 6 children • 1921, 39, contact polio on Campobello Island, ME, crippled his legs. Hid his crutches & wheel chair, March of Dimes • Suffered a stroke & died (63) in Warm Springs, GA, April ‘45. • He never saw V-E Day? Hiroshima? V-J Day? the UN?

  3. Political Experience • NY State Senate • Asst. Sec of the Navy 1913- 1920. • VP candidate in ‘20 for Dem.presidential candidate Cox & lost to Warren G. Harding & Calvin Coolidge • D, Gov of New York, 1930 ~ 1932 • Elected President 4 times. ‘32, ‘36, ‘40, ‘44. Served 13 yrs
