Once upon a time K in the school . There was a boy called Ali . Ali is 13 years old and he has hair as black as night . Ali loved wearing thoob because its his country’s traditional dress. In history class his teacher Mohamed gave Ali and the classmate homework. The homework was to research about the UAE’s history.
I had no idea about that research When Ali went back home , he had no idea about the UAE’s history. He wasn’t so curious about the UAE’s history . Ali thought and thought about how he will do his research and he should do an interview. His mind was empty . Suddenly Ali had an idea that his grandfather know about the UAE in the past because he lived at that day and absolutely he know about UAE’s history . Ali was delighted because he found his grandfather sitting in the chair. “Yes ! He is free , this my big chance ,” said elated Ali .
MMM…. Sultan, Ali’s grandfather kept telling about how he lived in the past and the grandfather got happy because he felt that the UAE’s history will not disappear. While the grandfather talked Ali was thinking of many questions. Ali waited until his grandfather finished . Oh my grandfather ! He knows
When the grandfather was done, Ali started to ask his grandfather the questions. The first question was about how people in the past treated each other. The grandfather smiled at Ali’s face and he started telling him that in the past everybody respected each other and they loved each other. They never leave their friends if he need help. Ali was surprised because people now a days only care about themselves and being selfish . Ali felt so sad because he can’t do anything and the world became worse and worse. The world was worse because nobody respected the adult sand the friends ran away if a friend needed help.
Ali was so interested about how did people in the past live? How do people live now ? The grandfather laughed on Ali because Ali wasn’t that responsible about UAE’s history . When the grandfather started to talk Ali’s eyes popped outside. The grandfather told Ali that in the past they lived in a house made of palm fronds and there was no bathroom and roofs. But now the building are made of bricks and have everything like a bathroom and roof. “Ali see the different? Its big right ? So you need to thank Allah for what he gave you,” said the serious grandfather. Now Past
Therefore Ali was comparing in his mind between now and in the past. Ali saw that there was a big different. Ali was shocked because in the past the UAE wasn’t that famous but after working hard and finding the oil the UAE was successful in everything. The UAE became famous in the world and people from the whole world came and visited the UAE. Ali had one question left and he will complete his research. Ali asked his grandfather the last question. It was talking about how people in the past earn money. How did the people earn money ? The grandfather answered proudly that people in the past earn money from fishing and pearl fishing, selling books and food like bread. In the past they risked their life for money but now a days the work is easy not risking their life. But you need a good education and experience. How the people earn money in the past!?
Ali felt proud of the people in the UAE and about UAE’s history, to be an Emirati person . Ali promised his grandfather that he will work hard to make his country more successful and not let the heritage and history of UAE disappear. Ali went to school and he was confident that he will bring an A+ and when he gave the teacher his homework, the teacher was surprised of Ali. The teacher gave him as he guessed. Ali went back to his grandfather and thanked him very much. Ali wants to be like his grandfather who is strong and loves his country.
