  1. Dewey Decimal System Posters • I can describe different categories. • I can explain and show how they are used in the library.

  2. Remember: Your poster should include: • The number and the category • For example: Pure Sciences – 500 – 599 (2 points {.1 for numbers, 1 for category}) • 10 pictures or sentences to describe your category. • Remember: you are trying to teach others about your category, make it easy to read and understand. Show examples to help others see what the category is about. (10 points) • An example of when you might need your category. • (1 point)

  3. Checklist • Go over your checklist with your group. • Put the COMPLETED poster and your checklist in the orange box.

  4. After you have cleaned up: • Work on the bibliography worksheet and wait to checkout. (They are under the screen in a black tray.)

  5. Checklist • Use your checklist to check that are finished COMPLETELY. • Put the COMPLETED poster and your checklist in the orange box. • Make sure you have cleaned up around your table. • Please shelve the books you used, don’t just throw them on any shelf. Thank you.

  6. Grading: • We will work on this today and one more time next week because this class missed last Tuesday. • Stay on task so that you will finish.

  7. 203 7th 2-15-08 • We will pass out the papers. • You may take scissors, glue, crayons, and rulers from the center table. • Also there is plain white paper – please take only what you need. • We are going to finish making our posters. • We are also going to checkout.

  8. Simultaneously, we will checkout our library books. • We are going to try a new way of checking out. • Up until now, we checked out as a class. • Today as you are working, I will tell your table to stop and go chose your library book. • After you have chosen and checked out, I would like you to finish what you are working on.

  9. Agenda • We will stop at 10:45 am. The music will stop to signal you to stop and clean up if you have not finished. • We will clean up, put away the pencils/papers/scissors/glue/crayons, etc in the center. • We will check out quietly as you are working. Listen for your table #. • Remember in the library we are walking and whispering.
