    1. Revistiendo con Realeza a Ester El Reino de la Mujer ... Formadora de las Naciones A womans worth is found in that she is the image of God. Her greatness is that she reigns as the nurturer of nations. The American Lawyer and Poet William Ross Wallace caught the significance of this in his poem title For the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world. Angels guard its strength and grace, In the palace, cottage, hovel, Oh, no matter where the place; Would that never storms assailed it, Rainbows ever gently curled; For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world. Infancy's the tender fountain, Power may with beauty flow, Mother's first to guide the streamlets, From them souls unresting grow- Grow on for the good or evil, Sunshine streamed or evil hurled; For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world. Woman, how divine your mission Here upon our natal sod! Keep, oh, keep the young heart open Always to the breath of God! All true trophies of the ages Are from mother-love impearled; For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world. Blessings on the hand of women! 4. Mary Pride The Way Home [1] The Way Home: Beyond Feminism, Back to Reality by Mary Pride pg. xii xiii The sad truth is that the traditional role which feminists attacked in the fifties had already lost its scriptural fullness. Christian women were staying home out of habit, not out of conviction [this emphasis is mine]. Women had been robbed of their role, even thought they were in their place. And they were robbed by the church. The Christian churches in this country had actually paved the way for feminism to succeed, even as preachers orated about the sanctity of motherhood! Denominations endorsed family planning and therapeutic abortion. Church meetings were scheduled for every-night of the week, giving out a clear message that family life was unimportant. Ministry was considered more worthwhile than motherhood, as missionaries were expected to leave their children in boarding schools as a matter of course. Church life centered on the church building, not the home.

Nellie McClung Feminista Maternal Their interest was to extend their maternal reign in the home into the larger world to create a healthy society for their children. Private homemaking was extended into the public arena of creating culture and building nations. A maternal feminist understood that she was to prepare her children for good citizenship and prepare society for her children Maternal Feminists wanted to help create a society that supported the health of the family and the child. They wanted to fight against forces that would undermine the family, and destroy the nation. They fought: Against sweatshops (where women were paid low wages and kept from mothering), Against child labor (where children were kept from learning), and for a family wage (so the husband could work and the wife fulfill here maternal call) For temperance (against the abuses of alcohol, because of its destructiveness of the family) For womans suffrage (to exercise a maternal voice in the public square). The maternal feminists were cut from a very different cloth than modern career feminists. They were not fighting to get women into the workplace. They were fighting to get women out of the workplace into the home, so that a woman was free to be a woman and do what they were made to do nurture a nation.
